When
1.00pm, Sun 6 Oct 2019 (60 mins)About
Until recently, women directors were largely written out of early cinema history. This shorts film program, inspired by the documentary Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché (which screens separately during the Festival), showcases recent restorations of important French film pioneer Alice Guy-Blaché, whose films pursued progressive values questioning gender roles and racial divides. This live music and film event features a new score by violinist Kyla Matsuura-Miller.
