SYNOPSIS

The Picture Show Men looks at the remarkable Queensland philanthropist, and former Chairman of Australian Multiplex Cinemas, James C. Sourris AM.

Raised in a cinema-owning family, his grandfather started showing films at Armidale’s Arcadia cinema in 1921. James C. Sourris trained as an assistant projectionist at the Beach Theatre, Sandgate when he was just 17. After divesting interests in his string of cinemas in 2010, Sourris turned his time and resources to supporting philanthropic and art patronage in Queensland.
