Lunch and Lecture: 'Conservation in Focus'

11.00AM Thu 15 Nov 2018
QAG | Lecture theatre | Sold Out

Join Kim Barrett, Conservator, Works on Paper, when she discusses a major project working on a number of sixteenth- to nineteenth-century Japanese scrolls and screens, a recent gift to the Gallery’s Collection. Kim will share the process of assessing and documenting these works, and the materials and techniques used to make and restore them. Learn about the difference between Western and Eastern conservation methods, and how the Gallery stores and displays these works to ensure they are preserved for future generations. A selection of these works are now on display in Gallery 6, QAG.
