About
Join Brisbane artist Leah Emery for an all-inclusive four hour workshop cross-stitching figures of revolutionary women from the history of the motorcycle cultural movement. Working with specially designed templates, the artist will guide you through the steps to customise your pioneering stunt rider and learn more about their exceptional histories. Firmly grounded in feminist narrative, Leah’s practice engages with gender, identity, sex and intimacy, and is concerned with presenting often difficult content in a shell of mirth and whimsy to pursue her storytelling. Leah was the recipient of two awards in the Brisbane Portrait Prize 2020. Bookings essential, class size is strictly limited to ten places.
