From August until November the titles on the reading list feature the writing and stories of Indigenous women, celebrating and connecting to ‘Mavis Ngallametta: Show Me the Way to Go Home’, currently on display in the Queensland Art Gallery.

Compiled by award-winning author Anita Heiss, this anthology of childhood stories of family, country and belonging showcases diverse voices and experiences of what it like to grow up Aboriginal in Australia.  Accounts from well-known authors and high-profile identities sit alongside those from newly discovered writers of all ages. All of the contributors speak from the heart – sometimes calling for empathy, oftentimes challenging stereotypes, always demanding respect. This ground-breaking collection will enlighten, inspire and educate about the lives of Aboriginal people in Australia today.
