About
Due to popular demand we are taking bookings for the lecture component of our Monthly Lunch & Lecture.
Join Peter McKay (Curatorial Manager, Australian Art) for an overview of ‘Quilty’. The exhibition extends from Ben Quilty’s early reflections on the initiation rituals performed by young Australian men to his experience as an official war artist in Afghanistan and his campaign to save the lives of Bali Nine pair Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran. The exhibition also includes works inspired by Quilty’s visits to Lebanon, Lesbos and Syria with author and friend Richard Flanagan, his revisions of the Australian landscape and raw, intimate portraits of himself, family and friends.
