Have you ever dreamed of performing at GOMA?

We are seeking expressions of interest from teen performers to apply to perform at the Wonderstruck Festival at GOMA on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 June.

All you need to do is submit a 1–3-minute audio recording or video of yourself performing to be in the running. Whether you sing, play an instrument solo or with a band, dance, or are a storyteller – we want to see your talent!

The most enthusiastic and passionate performers will be given the opportunity to perform a 15-minute set on the main stage at the Wonderstruck Festival, with staging and sound support supplied by QAGOMA.

Key dates

  • Fri 2 May 2025: Expressions of interest open
  • Fri 16 May 2025: Expressions of interest close at 11.59pm
  • By end of May 2025: All performers who have submitted an expression of interest will be notified of the outcome of their application, whether successful or unsuccessful
  • Sat 28 & Sun 29 June 2025: Wonderstruck Festival

Teen Performer Information

To be eligible to perform, performers must be:

  • Between 13-17 years of age
  • Able to provide parental or guardian consent for participation
  • Available to perform a 15-minute set across the weekend of Saturday 28 June and Sunday 29 June at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). Set times will be allocated once performers are selected
  • Able to ensure that their set is suitable for a daytime, all-ages audience, as it will be presented at a family-friendly festival

Parent/Guardian Consent

If you are selected, you will require parental or guardian consent to participate. Please ask your parent or guardian to complete the following questions.

I understand that:
  • If selected to perform at GOMA I will be contacted via email to fill in a form to confirm my teen’s consent to perform at the Wonderstruck Festival on either Saturday 28 or Sunday 29 June, with an allocated 15-minute set time supplied.
  • Personal information is being collected for the purposes of selecting teen performers to perform at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 June as part of the Wonderstruck Festival. This involves assessing your teen's application and suitability based on their passion and enthusiasm to participate in the Wonderstruck Festival and their ability to ensure their set is suitable for an all-ages audience, contacting you in relation to the performance, facilitating and managing your teen's participation where relevant.
  • If my teen is not located locally and travel is required for them to perform at the Wonderstruck Festival, I will need to arrange and cover the cost of any travel expenses for the performance.
  • If I have supplied the public social media handles for my teen’s performance act, I give permission for QAGOMA to engage with these accounts on social media if they are public accounts.
  • Data is collected and used in accordance with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art Privacy Statement.
