Jamilah Haji

Happiness and Wishes

About this activity
Jamilah Haji is an artist from Narathiwat, a southern province of Thailand. As a child, Jamilah practised sewing with her mother and her neighbours. Today, she uses a needle and thread to create artworks on fabric through a technique called embroidery.

As a person with a hand difference, Jamilah is passionate about providing creative opportunities for people with disability. In her work, the artist often collaborates with children with disability, incorporating their drawings into her embroidery pieces.

For APT10 Kids, Jamilah has created eight activity prompts that children can respond to. These activities invite children of all abilities to think about what makes them happy and what they wish for.
