Peter Tully's Body ornament: Masai Moments III  is a sculptural assemblage using found objects, plastic and human hair. Tully's extraordinary jewellery and costume designs were initially exhibited in a craft context and performed by the artist in Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, of which he was the artistic director for a number of years in the early 1980s. This work is from a series of costumes – described by Tully as 'urban tribalwear' – that specifically engage with cross-cultural fetishism and identification in a post-industrial society.
