Cinema curators Rosie Hays and Victoria Wareham share insights into the five programs presented across Asia Pacific Triennial Cinema. Explore three filmmaker surveys, including emerging Indonesian filmmaker Kamila Andini, Academy-award winning Japanese filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and senior Taiwanese-Malaysian filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang. Plus, discover thematic programs ‘Future Visions’ in which filmmakers daringly ask the question ‘what if’ to consider the future of the environment and cultural identities; and ‘The Rise of Central Asia Cinema’ which charts the emergence of new filmmaking voices from Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region.
Bookings are essential. This talk is the fifth in an ongoing series offering insights into artworks and projects included in ‘The 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’, on display across QAG & GOMA from 30 November 2024 to 27 April 2025.
