A selection of short animations reflecting on the ebb and flow of life from political power structures to the passing tide on a beloved beach. The program includes works by artists whose interdisciplinary practices traverse painting, drawing, performance art and animation.

Namatjira is a witty and politically astute portrait painter based at Iwantja Arts in Indulkana Community, APY Lands, SA. The video is based in part on Namatjira’s painting of the seven Prime Ministers of Australia in power during his lifetime. From 1959, until his death in 2000, Harry Thompson was the unofficial caretaker, a citizen of the year and later appointed Mayor of Shelly Beach. While on Residence with the Glasshouse Port Macquarie, Todd Fuller reimagined this iconic local story in a hand drawn animation." Todd Fuller
