Joe Furlonger/ Story of an artist
Joe Furlonger is well known for his expressive, painterly figurative images, and vast Australian landscapes in all their brilliant diversity. ‘Horizons’ traces the Queensland artist’s career through an expansive presentation of more than 80 works across a range of media from painting to ceramics, sculpture and drawing. Throughout Furlonger’s 40-year practice, the human figure, land and seascapes have been recurring themes, and his works are instilled with an assured spontaneous dedication to the world around him.
