Sharmini Pereira, Scholar in Residence

Sharmini Pereira, independent curator, writer and editor, is the Queensland Art Gallery's first Scholar in Residence, supported by the Australian Centre of Asia-Pacific Art. During her five-week residency, Sharmini's base is the Gallery's Research Library, which holds a substantial collection of resources on contemporary Asian and Pacific art. Sharmini is researching Cai Guo Qiang's gunpowder drawings for a forthcoming publication.
Sharmini's residency is supported by the Australian Centre of Asia-Pacific Art, an initiative of the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.
