My Gen 50+, the Gallery's public program for people over 50, recognises that age is an attitude for any generation. My Gen 50+ provides a range of events for people wanting to gain knowledge through cultural and leisure activities. Programs are held regularly, exploring the Gallery's Collection and current exhibitions through special talks, lectures, courses, after-hours events and more.

Short course: Contemporary Indigenous art
10.30am – 12.30pm Wednesday 10 July
During NAIDOC Week, a morning of short, insightful focus sessions with special guest speakers will introduce contemporary Indigenous art to course participants. Sessions will be based on the rich variety of work presented in the exhibitions: ‘My Country, I Still Call Australia Home: Contemporary Art from Black Australia’ and ‘Death and Life: rakuny ga walnga: Contemporary Arnhem Land Art’. Free, bookings required.

Using the Coverlet with George III reviewing the troops (1803–05) as starting point, Sally Foster, Assistant Curator, International Art (pre 1975), QAGOMA, takes an art historical approach to quilt-making, sharing connections between printmaking and patchwork in nineteenth-century Britain.
