Movies for Members: Norwegian Wood 2010 MA15+ P9 |
GOMA
 |
remind me
Watanabe (Kenichi Matsuyama) and Naoko (Rinko Kikuchi) are drawn to each other through their shared experience of loss — the death of their close friend, and, in Naoko’s case, the death of her boyfriend a year earlier. A film that meditates on romantic longing and the influence of our relationships on our lives, Norwegian Wood is based on the novel by prize-winning author Haruki Murakami. Critically-acclaimed cinematographer Ping Bin Lee captures — in sensually breathtaking visuals — the couple’s dilemma of whether to live in the past or relinquish it to live in the present.
Free / No bookings required; places are limited; please arrive early to secure your seat
