Fred Williams (1927–82) is one of the most influential twentieth-century Australian artists. Best known for his distinctive depictions of the Australian bush, which transformed our ways of seeing the landscape, Williams’s extraordinary body of prints includes delightful music hall images from 1955–56 made in London, as well as extensive series of landscapes made after his return to Australia, from the late 1950s.
