Musicians In Residence: The Quadratic Contingency

Every Sunday Hitchcock’s silent films will be accompanied by musicians-in-residence The Quadratic Contingency. This post-jazz ensemble of piano, drums, clarinet and double bass will draw on classical and traditional jazz music to create evocative live scores for Hitchcock’s earliest films.

The Quadratic Contingency previewed their debut performance during 2009 alongside the nationally acclaimed ensemble, The West End Composers Collective. They have since played with international touring phenomenon Misinterprotato and nationally acclaimed Robert Davidson (Topology). In 2010, The Quadratic Contingency launched their debut self-titled EP to with one of the most outstanding performances of the year.
