About
A superbly acted and subtly scripted Tibetan film about the realities of not being able to return home. As a young child Dolkar left her Tibetan homeland and was led by her father through a perilous mountain pass in the hope of a better life in India. The film follows Dolkar as an adult living in India’s Dharamshala. She must decide whether to help a fellow Tibetan who is on the run from spies. First-time actress Tenzin Dolker in the leading role of Dolkar, delivers a mesmerising and moving performance. This is the second fiction film from documentary filmmakers Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam who showcase their deft hand at fiction directing, crafting a masterful portrait of the joys, sadness and complexities of exile.
