About
Perhaps John Waters' most resolutely tasteless film, 'Desperate Living' is set in the fictional kingdom of Mortville, presided over by the overweight, sadistic Queen Carlotta (Edith Massey), who has a taste for every kind of excess. Housewife Peggy Gravel (Mink Stole) and her maid Grizelda (Jean Hill) find themselves washed up in Mortville after disposing of Peggy's husband, and Carlotta chooses Peggy as her natural successor.
