About
A Fish Called Wanda is an uproarious comedy heist film written by John Cleese. The film follows a group of duplicitous crooks, each scheming to score the loot of a diamond robbery. Hijinks and double crosses pile ever higher as Jamie Lee Curtis's thief Wanda Gershwitz attempts to seduce Cleese's stuffy barrister Archie Leach. Nominated for three Academy Awards (and winning one for Kevin Kline's pitch-perfect supporting performance), this brilliantly constructed tightwire comedy also features fellow Monty Python alumnus Michael Palin as hapless animal lover Ken Pile.
